INFORMATION AND RULES

L Membership:
A. Any European country may compete for the European Team with 30 days prior notice to ESSO.
B. Each country will be responsible for organizing their rider(s) for competition.
C. Each country will send 1 - 4 rider(s) to a competition.
D. Any grievances will be submitted in writing to ESSO.
IL Competing Members
A. Must be at least 14 years old.
B. Must arrange for a horse to use at competitions. (In the case of travel outside of Europe/England, ESSO will arrange for horses)
C. Rider(s) must be an approved representative of their country.
IlL Competitions
A. There will be at least one European competition per year.  At each of these horse shows, a rider will receive a score, which is the total of their rail work and their pattern. The seven riders with the highest total score after the European competition(s) will comprise the European Team.  The team will consist of five competing members and two as alternates. The selected Team will compete at the next international event.
B. Each country must notify ESSO within 15 days of a competition in which rider(s) will be participating.
C. In the event of a tie; the UPHA Challenge Cup pattern will be ridden (stirrups will be optional; at the judge's discretion)
IV. Public Demonstration Rides
A. Each country should participate in one public demonstration each year to promote saddle seat riding.
B. ESSO literature, sponsor material, and other saddle seat information should be available.
V. Finance
A. All funds received will be put into the ESSO bank account.
B. No monies will be allocated without the approval of ESSO.
C. General expenses:
1. Clothing and Equipment will carry ESSO and sponsor logos. Equipment provided:     track suit, ball cap, short sleeved polo, long sleeved polo, blazer, tote bag, saddle pad.
2. Travel money will be budgeted and given to each country for European travel. All international travel expenses will be handled directly by ESSO. All expense receipts must be given to ESSO within 10 days after a competition including: lodging, food, airfare, car expense, horse transport, show fees. Any country found not using funds appropriately will be barred from competition.
3. Promotion and Hospitality is handled directly by ESSO. This includes: brochures, banner/sign, advertisement, business cards, food, drink, gifts, event decorations, team pictures, television/video equipment.
VI. Publications
A. ESSO will publish and distribute show results to many U.S. and European equine publications for optimum exposure.
B. ESSO will publish and distribute an annual newsletter informing
members and sponsors of projected changes, financial status, show
results, and all events pertaining to ESSO and saddle seat riding.

SPONSOR INFORMATION
Embrace the future by reliving a part of the elegant past. Welcome to ESSO. The creation of many organizations requires funding and donations. ESSO invites sponsorship in any form. This sponsor package includes: start up expenses, reoccurring expenses, and sponsor levels.

Start Up Expenses:
The initial needs of the organization will be in the office:
I.  Paper products: business cards, brochures, letterhead, envelopes
2. Postage
Total office expenses: 450.00
We have chosen venues to give saddle seat riding and our sponsor(s optimum positive exposure. ESSO competitors will be presented as elegant yet confident equestrians. As representatives of ESSO all members will need:
Clothing:   track suit, golf cap, short sleeved polo, long sleeved polo, blazer, day outfit, evening outfit
Equipment: tote bag, saddle pad
Total cost of clothing and equipment per rider: 300.00
ESSO will have a promotion and hospitality area set up at each of the competitions and demonstrations to display informational material on ESSO and our sponsors.
Equipment: Total equipment cost: 750.00   Included:  official team photograph, European flag
television/VCR, table, chairs, traveling trunks, picture frames for Team photographs, banner or sign

We accept equipment or checks for:
GIFT- (25.00-100.00) Will receive annual newsletter with recognition.
SPONSOR - (101.00-1000.00) Will receive annual newsletter with recognition of donation and announcement of gratitude at competitions.
PATRON- (1001.00 and above) Will receive annual newsletter with recognition of sponsorship, announcement of gratitude a competitions, and a display of sponsors logo/promotional materials.
